How do I block someone?
Blocking cuts messages and visibility both ways; the list of blocked people is managed in settings.
Blocking
From a profile: options menu, then Block. From a conversation: menu at the top of the conversation, then Block.
What blocking changes
- The person can no longer message you
- They no longer see your content, and you no longer see theirs
- Existing interactions stop showing up
Managing the list
Settings › Blocked users lists everyone you blocked, with search and an unblock button.
Softer alternatives
- Mute a conversation: you stay reachable, without notifications
- Delete a conversation without blocking the person
- As a creator, restrict messages to subscribers in chat settings
- As a creator too, geo-blocking hides your account across entire countries
If it is harassment
Blocking ends the contact but does not alert us. Report it as well: see How to report content.
