How do I install the app on my phone?
Lewdy installs straight from the browser, with no app store — and on iOS it is required for push notifications.
Lewdy is a progressive web app: it installs directly from your browser, without an app store, and updates itself.
On iPhone and iPad
- 1Open Lewdy in Safari — installing is not possible from Chrome or Firefox on iOS
- 2Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen
- 3Choose Add to Home Screen, then Add
On Android
- 1Open Lewdy in Chrome
- 2Tap Install when the browser offers it, or Add to Home screen from the three-dot menu
On desktop
An install icon appears in the address bar in Chrome or Edge. The app then opens in its own window.
What installing gives you
- Push notifications: new messages, subscriptions, tips
- The unread badge on the app icon
- A full-screen view with no browser chrome, plus shortcuts to Upload, Chat and Search

On iOS, push notifications only work if the app has been added to the Home Screen. That is an Apple limitation, not a Lewdy one.
