How does the feed work?
Two tabs — For You, which learns from your activity, and Subscriptions, limited to your creators — plus search to explore.
The home feed is vertical: swipe up to move to the next video.
The two tabs
- For You: recommendations built from what you watch, like, comment on, and how long you watch
- Subscriptions: only videos from creators you subscribe to, in publication order
Gestures and controls
- Double-tap the video to like it
- Icons on the right: like, comments, share, sound, options menu
- Options menu: report, "Not interested", and promote on your own videos
Shaping your recommendations
"Not interested" is not cosmetic: the signal is genuinely taken into account and pushes those topics down. Conversely, watching a video to the end, liking and following reinforce a topic. Skipping a video almost instantly also counts as a negative signal.
Finding something else
Search gives you creators, hashtags, trends, categories and featured profiles.
